Terms of Rental Subscription

Tawzer Dog LLC offers rental subscriptions with the largest selection of positive approach dog training and behavior DVDs in the world. Because we produce our own DVDs, we are able to increase rental inventory as needed to keep up with our growing rental subcriber's needs.

Noteworthy: Out of respect to our speakers and seminar sponsors who put out a lot of effort and expense to make these seminars & workshops available, our new releases will first be available for purchase before being added to our rental program.

Once you have signed up for a rental subscription, you can immediately begin making selections by clicking on the "Add to Queue" buttons. The discs in those titles become part of your Rental Queue.

When you have made your selections, add them to your Rental Queue and prioritize them in the order you wish to receive. The discs are then shipped the next business day via first class mail (excluding holidays). We ship automatically, there is no shipment trigger button. You will receive an auto email notification eash time a disc is shipped to you.

The discs MUST be returned in the original packaging (this includes the mailer AND the inside sleeve). Discs returned without the sleeve will not be checked back in because the barcode that identifies who is returning the disc, will be missing. When we receive a disc back, you will be sent an auto email notification of the return and then we will ship the next disc in your rental queue the next business day after the return. You can view the status of your current rental activity in your rental queue. 

2. How can I use a rented disc?

The rented DVD is owned by Tawzer Dog LLC as are the copyrights associated with the DVD. You are authorized to view the DVD only for your personal use. You are PROHIBITED from doing the following;

  • Making a copy or reproduction of the DVD.
  • Displaying the DVD, or playing the sound from the DVD, in a public or commercial setting or for a fee.
  • Renting the DVD to anyone for any use.
  • Altering the contents of the DVD, adding anything to the contents of the DVD, combining the DVD with any other materials, or using the materials in a derivative work.
  • Uploading the DVD to any web-server, web-host, or video host.

For example: 1 disc out at a time plan means you can have 1 disc checked out...watch it...return it...and we will ship the next one in your queue, as many times as you wish. 2 disc plan= 2 discs out at once. It is important to know that many of these training materials are multiple disc sets and our rental program is based on DISC not DVD Title.

4. How Much Does Shipping Cost?

Shipping for rental subscriptions is free both ways. Discs are shipped to you in a 2-way prepaid USPS approved First Class mailer.

5. How Does Subscription Billing Work?

By starting your Tawzer Dog LLC rental subscription, you are authorizing us to charge the Payment Method specified in your account information for the following items:

  • a monthly subscription fee at the then current rate for the subscription level you’ve chosen plus any applicable tax, and
  • any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the tawzerdog.com rental subscription.
Note: Discount coupons and codes can not be applied to rental subscriptions. 


Additional charges outside of your rental subscription may include DVDs you fail to return upon subscription cancellation or termination, and subscription level changes you request.

The first monthly subscription payment is billed immediately upon sign up. Your account will be re-billed on your monthly billing cycle date (every 30 days from the date you signed up). You can update your billing card via your account.

6. How Do I Cancel?

Subscribers may cancel their subscription at any time by logging into their account and from your "My Dashboard" page (landing page after logging in) click on "My Membership Subscriptions" and then click on the "Payment Profile I.D." and finally click the green SUSPEND button. Please note that there are no refunds or credits for partial periods or unused rental program periods. If you cancel and still have discs out, you will be billed a monthly fee for every month the discs have not been fully returned. To reactivate later you will need to purchase the rental subscription of your choice again. However, your rental queue will remain intact.

Tawzer Dog LLC also reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate your account and your access to the rental service at any time 

7. How Do I Upgrade or Downgrade Between Rental Subscription Packages?

You must first suspend (cancel) your current program and then sign up for your desired program. Follow the above steps to suspend your subscription and then you can come sign up for another.

8. How Do I Change the Order of Items in My Queue?

It's a drag & drop, click on the title and drag it up or down to your desired position.

9. What if a disc is lost in the mail?

Cases of missing discs happen on occassion. It is important that you doublecheck your junk mail piles to ensure the mailer was not discarded or misplaced prior to filing a problem ticket. We work closely with USPS regarding lost/stolen mailers and report all instances to them. They in turn help us to trace any missing or misrouted shipments.

10. How long does it take for disc to arrive?

Estimate 3 to 5 business days for west coast and 5 to 10 business days for east coast.

If your queue shows a disc shipped on a holiday, it will not actually ship until the next day the USPS is open.

We turn the discs within 24 hrs....the day we receive one of your discs back, we will ship out the next one that same day or the following morning, depending on volume received.

Rental discs are sent out standard First Class US mail from Boise, Idaho. Please note: we have control over the date we ship not over the date they arrive. Same goes for when you are returning rentals, we have no control on when they will arrive at our office, but we will receive them into the system on or before the next business day.

Please be advised, 5 to 10 business days to the east coast could be the max equivalent of 2 calendar weeks.

Wondering why it takes so long to east coast? Here's a little history:

We use to ship in the two-way mailers approved by USPS Post Master for shipping DVD or game rental discs which USPS mandates will always run on the automated equipment. Despite the USPS's claim that their automated process works for discs, they still were constantly damaging them. However the ones they did not damage would have a faster transit time than they do now. USPS claimed the issue could only be resolved by not using automation.

The only way the USPS would allow a rental disc to be manually processed is if we put them in plastic that does not fit into the automated machines and pay double the postage in both directions. We implemented that process to avoid rental subscribers receiving a disc broken in half. Now that the rental discs are manually processed not just through our post office but also through the 5 to 7 postal locations they stop at between us and the subscriber, there was an increase in transit time to the above stated estimates. On occasion one of those stops in between will ignore the bold "non-machinable" print on the mailer and stick it in an automated machine which destroys our discs and jams their equipment. The USPS most of the time will NOT notify us of the issue and we won't know until you call or email to let us know it hasn't arrived. In which case you will receive the best customer support possible and a quick resolution to meet your needs. It is best practice to log into your account dashboard and check the ship dates on your rentals, if it's gone past the estimated transit time, contact us right away. Please note there will NEVER be a case where Tawzer "forgot" to ship your disc within 24 hours so please be patient with us on any unforeseen USPS issues.

If you are the type of subscriber who views the disc when you have time, then you are probably not affected much by the transit time. If you are the type of subscriber who likes to view and return as quick as possible and you live in the longer transit area, then the puppy package is NOT the best option for you. It is better to subscribe to a larger package that allows you to rotate multiple discs so you can be watching one while the other is on its way back to us and so on. Unfortunately these are the only options available to us. The next step up in forms of shipping would cost $6 and $10 (both directions combined) and majority of our rental subscribers do not want to see that kind up price increase.

Why does Netflix ship faster? This is a common question. First, our rental program is so niche it will never do the volumes it takes to have that kind of negotiating power with the USPS. Netflix mailers are not processed through automation or the same manual process. In fact they don't get touched until they hit your post office. Therefore they do not have to use plastic, they pay way less, gets there faster and doesn't get damaged. That's just the way it is. We've carved out the best possible solutions for our very small portion of DVD rental market.

The above information was for the sake of full disclosure on transit time and allow you to make a decision that best suit your needs. The majority of our rental customers are extremely successful with the program.

11. Enforcement

tawzerdog.com is controlled by us from our offices in Eagle, Idaho, and the statutes and laws of the Idaho shall be controlling, without regard to the conflicts of laws principles. If any party brings suit or action against the other for relief, declaratory or not, arising out of this agreement, the prevailing party as determined by the court or arbitrator shall recover against the other party all court costs and disbursements together with reasonable attorneys fees.This agreement shall be enforceable in the Fourth Judicial District of the State of Idaho or the United States District Court for the State of Idaho. The parties consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of that court in resolving any dispute under this agreement or related to tawzerdog.com

12. Changes In Terms of Rental Subscription

The price of the monthly rental plans are subject to change from time to time. Whenever possible, we will give you at least one month's advance notice of the change.

We reserve the right to change these Terms of Rental Subscription from time to time with or without notice to you. It is your responsibility to periodically review tawzerdog.com and the Terms of Rental Subscription applicable to rented materials from Tawzer Dog LLC. Your continued use of tawzerdog.com and any adding items to your queue or use of previously queued items after the modifications will constitute acknowledgement and acceptance of the modified Terms of Rental Subscription.
