Reactivity: A Program for Rehabilitation

Presented by: Emily Larlham

DVD- 2 disc set, TRT: 4 hrs 12 mins

This DVD covers how to train the most important behaviors and and skills needed for tackling reactivity. These in depth tutorials will show you how to to lower stress, build calmness, build attention, train alternate behaviors, reinforce the absence of reactivity and most importantly build your dog's confidence and trust in you. The DVD also covers how to interrupt and prevent reactivity. In this training plan you will learn skills for using counter conditioning in order to change your dog's emotional response to things he fears, or that make him over-aroused. The making of this DVD was inspired by Splash, Emily's Border Collie, who used to be a highly reactive and fearful dog, and who now brings tears of joy to Emily's eyes instead of tears of sadness. Emily's goal is to empower the hopeless, who feel overwhelmed with the task of rehabilitating their beloved companion. This DVD is for those whose dogs are reactive to people, other dogs and objects. However, this same training method can be applied to dogs that are overly fearful or overly excitable in certain situations, but who don't become reactive. This is because the same goal is appropriate for all of these dogs; creating a dog that feels relaxed, calm, and WANTS to do what his handler asks in all situations.

This was the missing link for me and my dog! Review by Ines
After 1.5yrs of training, I felt I really had not made enough progress. This DVD proved to be exactly what I needed. It showed me exactly what to do, how to do it, and even how to avoid common mistakes (which I had been making!). This DVD is an absolute *must have* for anyone with a dog, not just reactive dogs! Thank you Emily for sharing your time and knowledge! (Posted on 12/21/13)
Outstanding Review by Merijeanne
I've been working (as an owner, not trainer) with 2 reactive dogs. This is about the BEST, most accessible DVD on reactivity I've ever seen. It's far more understandable than books, since it's visual and experiential. I HIGHLY recommend this DVD! (Posted on 11/29/13)
Amazing, inspiring, and super-helpful!!! :) Review by Jenny LeMoine and Lola!
Emily's DVD 'Reactivity' has been life-changing for us and our fearful reactive shelter dog. Extremely well organized, easy to follow, FUN to watch, with SO much awesome and helpful information! We have been using the program for over 3 months, and while we still have work to do (our 4y old dog is extremely fearful, and we're her 3rd home), our progress has been AMAZING. Emily is so upbeat, explains each concept very clearly and provides detailed real-world demonstrations of every item with clear instructions. No physical force, no intimidation - just dog-friendly, ethical, and effective methods. Love this DVD!!! (Posted on 11/13/13)
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING! Review by Ron
Emily Larlham is considered to be highly regarded dog trainer in many circles. In her new dvd called Reactivity: A Program for Rehabilitation was very disappointing for me. Actually, I love her other dvds but this one did not keep me interested very long. Her protocols ( just rehashed material) are not unique to most of us who keep a viable doggy toolbox. I believe you will be better off in buying other Tawzer videos on how to work with reactive dogs much more interesting and fascinating. (Posted on 6/7/13)
