For the Love of a Dog

Presented by: Patricia McConnell

DVD- 4 disc set

Ever looked at your dog and wondered how much of her emotional life is like your own? This seminar explores the biology of emotion in people and dogs, combining slides, videos and hands-on work with demonstration dogs.

You'll learn what emotions really are, and how much of primal emotions like happiness, fear and anger are shared by you and your dog. This day-long seminar looks at both the differences and similarities of emotions in dogs and people, and includes solutions to problems motivated by fear and anger. The day ends with an in-depth examination of why we love dogs as much as we do, and celebrates the bond between us and our four-footed friends. This video is a perfect companion for Patricia's book by the same name.

Video is very helpful Review by Martie
I bought this book as an audio book first before getting this video. There were parts of the book that I found to be a bit confusing. Patricia does a great job of explaining the "emotions" dogs experience and how a shy dog can act agressively because of their shyness.
She sorts out the different reactions you can get from a dog and who's multiple examples of the different faces of emotion in the cannine world. I think I can begin to see offensive and defensive faces on dogs. This video was very helpful in breaking it down into the small subsets.

After I finish all of her videos she has on Tawzer, I may go back and watch them all over again. She is so insightful. (Posted on 11/4/13)
